LIONS FINISH SEASON STRONG IN patriot invite
PEORIA- The Lions finished the season on a strong note while facing their biggest challenge of the season at the Patriot Invite. The Invite is one of the biggest in the state consisting in over 400 runners and over 50 teams. Even without top runners, Nicholas Halligan and Henry Kracht, the Lions pulled off 16th place while all runners finished with their personal records for the season.
Daniel Crouse - 65th - 17:15
Greg Mawhinney - 96th- 17:43
Dominic Hering - 107th - 17:52
Pierre Beauregard - 116th - 18:01
Matthias Schell - 148th - 18:26
LIONS PLACE FIFTH AT UNIVERSITY INVITE
NORMAL- The Lions placed 5th out of 11 teams at the University High Invitational in Normal, Illinois. It was the first race without injured Sophomore Henry Kracht and the loss was felt with La Salette missing the fourth place spot by only two seconds.

LIONS PLACE SECOND AGAIN AT OAKWOOD
OAKWOOD - The Lions were hoping to come into Oakwood and avenge their second place loss to Clinton High from last year's meet (they lost by a mere seven seconds) but were once again denied by the same school. Gregory Mawhinney, Henry Kracht and Daniel Crouse all finished in the top 15 but the Clinton runners were still able to best our squad. Nicholas Halligan and Pierre Beauregard, both key varsity runners, were out due top injuries. The Lions finished with second place and will look to next year to try and take down their Clinton rivals.
LIONS PLACE 18TH OUT OF 29 TEAMS IN SPARTAN CLASSIC
ST. JOSEPH'S/OGDEN - The Lions participated in the Spartan Classic for the second year in a row. The Spartan Classic, held in St. Joseph's/Ogden, Illinois, is one of the bigger meets in the state and the Lions have enjoyed being able to go up against some of the best runners in Illinois at this race.
Due to our students being boarders who cannot train together as a team during the spring and summer, the Lions have historically ran well against teams of greater talent and with months of practice already under their belts. But this year, the morale after the Classic was higher than usual. La Salette saw their top runners finally getting their run times closer to where they were in the early practice days of the season. The Lions now look to continue shaving off time from their runs and prepare themselves for their race against Chrisman on Tuesday.

Lions place second in north vermillion invite
North Vermillion - The Lions came into the season with one of the most talented squads in the school's running program and went into the traditional first meet full of optimism. They knew that Seeger High School would pose the same threat as always but were confident they would be able to come out with a third straight win. But from the gun things did not go as planned. Top runner, Nicholas Halligan suffered a hip injury within the first half mile causing him to finish the race out of sorts. Captain Daniel Crouse started off with a slower than usual first mile and was not able to pick up some of the lost ground once he was able to heat up. The third of the Junior Trio, Gregory Mawhinney, also suffered from a race not quite at his normal pace. Sophomore Henry Kracht continued to show promise by being the fastest runner of the day coming in 8th place.
The Junior Varsity race allowed a few young runners to show their abilities with a very convincing win. Dominic Herring, Joseph Martin and James Peterson all ran well. Herring, due to his performance, stands a chance to enter the next varsity meet as well.
Henry Kracht - 8th
Nicholas Halligan - 9th
Daniel Crouse - 10th
Pierre Beauregard - 13th
Gregory Mawhinney - 14th
Matthias Schell - 16th
