IT ALL BEGINS.

Every story has its beginning.

It's the start that draws in the viewer. Makes the reader curious. Anxious to see what is to come. Every great story begins with great characters. Men, women, children with a vision in their sight and a will to accomplish it.

This story begins with one man and a vision. Not a dream, not a false and vain pursuit -

but a vision that would change things forever.

This story begins with...

THE MAN

NO ORDINARY MAN.

He was no average man. Collegiate athlete, respected student at Yale University. A professor told someone once that men like him come about only every 50 years.

But instead he gave his life to God. And little did he know that God would reward him for his sacrifice with one of the great works that modern Catholic education has known.

He had spent years being made ready by work in Asia and Europe. God was getting him hungry. He was preparing his mind, his will, his soul for the school he was to found.

mother

WE FIGHT FOR HER.

He wanted the school to bring great Catholic men into the world. Catholic men willing to fight. So He needed to give them something to fight for right from the start.

Nothing inspires heroism in men than the women in distress. Our legends are filled with knights in shining armor saving the lady in danger.

He knew that these young men would need to be soldiers fighting for a woman just like the legends of old...

"WE WERE CONSTANTLY REMINDED THAT WE WERE THERE TO BE TRAINED TO NOT JUST SAVE OUR SOULS. BUT TO LIVE FOR THE CRYING LADY. DEFEND HER. FIGHT FOR HER .

NEVER REST UNTIL HER SORROW BE AVENGED."

discipline

DISCIPLINE IS THE KEY.

Fr. McMahon understood that the key to the fighting man and the spirit that drives him is rooted in the ability to conform to what is right and to persevere in what is difficult.

We cannot succeed in the difficult unless we align ourselves to what is right and do everyting in our power to stay the course. The world wants us to flutter backa nd forth chasing eery whim and fancy and pleasure...

WE SAY NO.

WE DO NOT ALTER.

WE DO NOT COMPROMISE.

WE DO NOT COWER OR SLACK OFF.

DISCIPLINE: noun,

                                        our way of life

desire

DESIRE IS EVERYTHING.

We can never achieve great things unless we have hearts that desire them.

We live in an atmosphere that seeks nothing but the best. We are formed to live according to a heart that beats only for the moment when we set out to do something difficult, something that others find impossible and for the moment when we achieve that milestone.

We desire greatness in all things because we know that desire to be perfect in the smaller things leads to the desire to be perfect in the greater things.

So many are defined by their apathy. We will be defined by our desire. The desire to stop at nothing to win the battle against self, against the world and for the Mother that we serve.

"WE DON'T DESIRE TO WIN IN GAMES AND COMPETITIONS BECAUSE OF WHAT THEY ARE. IT'S REALLY BECAUSE WHAT THEY STAND FOR IS THAT WE HAVE ASPIRED TO BE PERFECT. GOD WANTED US TO DESIRE THAT. SO THAT IS WHAT WE WILL DO. AND IN DESIRING TO WIN IN THE MATERIAL REALM...WE WILL ATTAIN THE DESIRE TO WIN IN THE SPIRITUAL AS WELL."

5

respect

RESPECT LEADS TO LEADERSHIP.

Fr. McMahon wanted to form not just Catholic men, but Catholic leaders.

Leadership is founded upon respect. Respect for the authority that is there guiding you to your goal. Respect for those follwoing under your care that depend upon you for the accomplishment of their mission.

We respect the authority over us. We do not look at them as tyrants or figures to avoid. They are our leaders. And we will follow them and support them in every endevour that serves the common good and the battle against our enemies.

A great leader is one who has the humility to follow and when the time comes has the strength and knowledge to lead.

LEADERSHIP

5

commitment

GIVE ALL. GIVE EVERYTHING.

A leader can only succeed when he is ready to sacrifice everything for the ones he leads.

If we are not generous and committed to all that we do - then why do it? How can we expect others to follow us and to care if they do not see enthusiasm for everything pumping through our veins.

We make it a point to be men who no matter what we do, we give everything to it. There is too much apathy in this world for us to just crawl through it ourselves.

No. We will not frag our feet. We will run in everything, for everything. Because that is what a generous spirit does. It's what a leader does.

toughness

ENDURE ALL. ALL DAY. EVERYDAY.

Nobody is willing to embrace the pain anymore.

It is a world that seeks comfort in everything. It looks for the easy way.

That will not be us. Whatever comes our way...we embrace. We will greet it head on and with a resolve unlike any other. We will train tough, long and hard in order to be able to endure.

The world needs Catholics who are ready and hungry to endure all for true victory...

WORDS THAT PUSH US TO NEVER STOP...

"WHILE YOU SIT HERE AT EASE, THE SONS OF THE ENEMY OUR PREPARING TO DEFEAT YOU IN BATTLE."

self-denial

THE WAR WITHIN.

Our greatest enemy is self.

La Salette is built upon self denial.

From the very first moment we must deny ourselves. From leaving our home to surrendering our own desire for the good of our brothers and school...everything here is about self denial, about the war we must wage against what we want to do.

We must become comfortable with the uncomfortable reality of denying ourselves the immediate gratification for the long game of self mastery and control.

This is the path to victory. The way we take this world by storm.

THE WORLD SAYS: "HAVE WHAT YOU WANT. BE AT PEACE WITH US..."

WE SAY NO.

confidence

WE WILL NOT BACK DOWN.

Our greatest enemy is self.

La Salette is built upon self denial.

From the very first moment we must deny ourselves. From leaving our home to surrendering our own desire for the good of our brothers and school...everything here is about self denial, about the war we must wage against what we want to do.

EVERY DAY BADASS.
